Stores are now packing up Halloween products and will soon begin stocking up with Christmas decorations and Christmas gift sets.

Cities and Towns are going to be putting up the street decorations, and soon to follow. Christmas music is going to be everywhere. It is a joyful time of the year, buying gifts seems to be everyone’s favorite part of Christmas and seeing the expressions in your loved ones faces, especially the kids.

There are many great gift ideas for dads, moms, significant others, brothers, sisters, grandparents, teenagers, children and babies. Below are lists of a few top 10 ideas.

If you have a writer on your list, there is a really nifty new program that kill's writer's block and gets the creative juices flowing. It is a great gift idea if you know a writer that that has a lot of articles to create.   A mini vending machine is a unique gift. It is not only for men, of course, but it seems to be more of a "guy" thing. My friend suggested that I add the vending machine to my list. She got her husband one last year, and he loves it. They're farmers so a quick trip to the market is not always an option, especially in the summer.

  My uncle keeps his in his garage. The downside to that is sometimes she doesn't see him for days. You might want to think about that one ladies. Is that a good thing or a bad thing :).

  I own a teenager and I know that everything on this list is a hit for sure. My best advice when choosing a teenagers first camera is to buy a cheaper one. If the teenager on your list keeps good care of it, then move on to pricier ones.

Christmas for some brings sadness, especially those who are down on their luck and struggling. Others are alone, with no family or are fighting addictions. Christmas is the time to give. Please also remember them during this time of year.

Donate to the Salvation Army or other agencies that assist those in need at this time. If you can, donate to the food bank, and give presents to charities that provide gifts for children who will go without on Christmas day.

Sometimes you just get your regular bah humbug who hates Christmas, and they are miserable and very UNfriendly, but this year, we can change that around and make the scrooges and less fortunate feel the spirit and bring them joy.

People seem to over spend at Christmas time, leading them to be in debt, which causes a lot of unhappy people. There are ways to help make Christmas a little cheaper.

• Check out major department store clearance sections

• Buy gifts on Boxing Day or later in the off-season

• Never wait until the last minute
